Using Channels
To use a channel, you must know the tag that it has been given. You can find the tag by clicking to the Main Channels Screen and looking at the tag names shown next to each channel. They are surrounded in curly brackets like {this}.
Edit the page where you would like the channel to appear. Type the channel tag (including the curly brackets) into either your body copy or sidebar where you would like it to appear.
Click save changes and view your page to see the result.
You may now wish to modify the display of your channel. There are several modifiers that can be applied to your channel. If you are already familiar with the
{subpages}tag, we’d like to inform you that you can affect the output of your channel in exactly the same way that you can with the{subpages}tag. All of the same modifiers apply. For a reference of these modifiers and what they do, please see the{subpages}tag in the Dictator Tag Reference.
If you are a web developer, you may also place the channel tag directly into the HTML templates if desired. This allows you to affect large numbers of pages at once and simplify the client’s management of the site.
