Photo Tag Modifiers
Now that you know how to refer to photos with tags, we’d like to introduce some ways in which you can modify the way they display. You may not need to use these modifiers, but they can be handy in specific cases.
In the list below, replace the word “photo” with “photos”, “photoX” (where X is a number) or your own specified tag (i.e. “willy”).
{photo-left}
Specifying the left modifier will cause the photo to float to the left. The result is that any text on your page will automatically flow around the photo, which may provide a more pleasing layout.{photo-right}
Specifying the right modifier will cause the photo to float to the right. The result is that any text on your page will automatically flow around the photo, which may provide a more pleasing layout.{photo-center}
Your photo will be centered in the page, but no text will flow around it.{photo-random}
With this modifier, we are telling Dictator to select a single photo randomly. If you have 10 photos on your page, and type {photos-random} then Dictator will just show one of them randomly.{photo-caption}
This modifier tells Dictator that you want to show the caption with the photo. In most cases, this means the caption will be displayed directly below the photo. There is a caption entry field for each photo when you are editing your page.{photo-thumbnail}
Instead of showing the full size photo, this tells Dictator that you want to show a clickable thumbnail of the photo. When the user clicks the thumbnail, it will pop open a window with the full size version.{photo-random-thumbnail-left-caption}
You may use more than one modifier! While somewhat contrived, this is an example of combining modifiers to achieve a specific result. In this case we are telling Dictator to select a random photo, show it’s clickable thumbnail, float it to the left, and show it with it’s caption.
