Dictator’s Source Code
Because Dictator is written in a web scripting language (PHP), your web site contains Dictator’s source code in its entirety. This means that by running Dictator, you are responsible for protecting the code and adhering to the license agreement. The Dictator license prohibits viewing, editing, or copying files (except for backups) from Dictator’s Core folder (and any folders below it).
/dictator/admin/core/ - OFF LIMITS
In addition, when we install a Dictator upgrade or security update, we overwrite your entire core folder. The core folder contains no code specific to your web site, and it is common to all Dictator installations. Were you to change anything in that core folder, we could no longer install a fix or upgrade without destroying code specific to your site. This is why you should consider files in this folder to be off limits.
We strongly discourage modifying any other files in the /dictator/ directory structure, or the index.php file in your web root folder, though the license does not specifically prohibit it. Unless you have consulted with Ryan Cramer Design, LLC ahead of time, if you make any modifications, we are not able to provide support or upgrades under warranty for your site until they are returned to the original state.
