Dictator CMS

Adding an End User

  1. Click the main users link at the top of Dictator’s admin interface.

  2. At the bottom of the page is a link for add new user, click it.

  3. Enter the user’s email address in the Login field. This will be used as their login name, as it is always guaranteed to be unique. If you are creating a user account to be shared among multiple people, then you don’t necessarily have to make this an email address. In that case, use a single lowercase word like “member” or “subscriber”.

  4. Enter a password to be used. Make sure that it is not the same as the username and that it is not easy to guess. If the account you are creating will be used by multiple people, then ensure that you uncheck the box that says Allow user to change password.

  5. If applicable, enter the user’s first and last name.

  6. Select the user access type. This should be End User unless you are specifically creating a user to have administrative access to your site.

  7. Click save changes and the user will be added to the system immediately. This user may now view pages marked as private on your site after logging in.
